Co-Executive Director
Nibezun is seeking a dynamic leader to join our team as a co-director. The co-director is one of two staff members responsible for managing the day-to-day management, as well as the operational and programmatic work of Nibezun with a commitment to its growth and prosperity. Co-directors share clearly defined responsibilities and work together in collaboration with the Board of Directors to implement our mission and vision, while establishing the priorities of the organization. Additionally, Nibezun’s co-directors will be responsible for the implementation of the annual and long-term strategic goals established by its Board of Directors.
Nibezun is a unique and exciting Native led nonprofit organization located on sacred Wabanaki land along the Penobscot River in Passadumkeag, Maine. At Nibezun, we celebrate culture as medicine, provide an inclusive space for healing, and promote sustainability for all people and future generations. Nibezun seeks an individual with a deep commitment to Wabanaki and Indigenous cultural values, as well as a strong organizational/business background, to be a part of a shared leadership team. Based on a collaborative leadership model, we work closely with staff to foster programming that further heals centuries of shared intergenerational trauma.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Competent computer literacy. Budget and fiscal management experience. Fundraising experience (both private and grant writing). Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers. Ability to work in a shared leadership role. Serviceable vehicle and driver's license - statewide travel expected. Expectation is to be on site at Nibezun at least 1-3 days per week with more needed during the summer months. Integrity, positive attitude and belief in Nibezun's mission.
Salary range 55k - 60k. 32 hours/week with flexibility within salaried position. $1500 stipend towards health insurance. 4 weeks earned time (2.46hr/week) carryover of leave 1 week.
