Membership Eligibility
MPC membership is open to funder, nonprofit, and professional service organizations as well as professional advisors/consultants and individual philanthropists. We break membership into three types:
- Funders: Organizations who are grantmakers, including private foundations, family foundations, public funders/grantmaking public charities, community foundations, corporate funders/foundations, government entities, philanthropic advisors, individual philanthropists, and donor advised funds
- Nonprofits: Organizations who are grantseekers including nonprofits, municipalities, school districts, and collaboratives
- Professional Services: For-profit organizations and individuals who work with and advise grantmakers and/or grantseekers
Membership Cost
Yearly membership investments are based on your membership type. Please select the applicable type below, or reach out to us at mpc@mainephilanthropy.org if you don't know which membership your organization falls under.
Nonprofit Membership Investment
Nonprofit membership tiers are based on an organization's annual operating expenses.

In line with our focus on equity, we hope all organizations are able to take advantage of MPC membership, regardless of their ability to pay for membership. Reduced cost and no cost memberships are available to new and renewing members for whom full cost membership would be burdensome or prohibitive. Learn more about these options.
Funder Membership Investment
Entry investment amounts for organizations are based upon the total value of grants given annually in Maine.
Individual philanthropists and philanthropic advisors pay a flat investment amount in order to become Funder members.

Members contributing $1,000 or more over their entry-level membership investment amounts automatically become part of the MPC's Philanthropy Circle.
Professional Services Membership Investment
Professional services memberships can be for professionals who support grantseekers and/or grantmakers, depending on the focus of your work. Please reach out to us if you need guidance on which membership applies to you or your organization.
Professional Services Membership (Nonprofit-focused)
This membership will allow you to join grantseeker-only programs, along with full access to our member benefits.
Membership tiers are based on total staff.

Philanthropic advisors pay a flat investment of $460.
