Director of Operations
The Operations Manager is a full-time, salaried, exempt position (40 hours/week). This role is responsible for overseeing agency operations, ensuring program efficiency, and driving continuous improvement across all areas of the organization. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, proficiency in reporting and scheduling, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
It is expected that the individual in this position will participate in and contribute to selected activities in conjunction with other departments within the organization, including fundraising and cost control.
This is a new position that will require flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, while providing guidance and leadership to volunteers and staff working within the programs. This position will primarily be Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as required.
Mainspring is a collaborative social service hub designed to make it easier for individuals and families to access the resources they need to thrive. Through co-location, centralized intake, and coordinated care, Mainspring connects community members to critical services while building a stronger, more resilient Seacoast.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (also see “Current Programs” below)
- Oversees the daily operations of all Mainspring programs, including the kitchen programs.
- Oversees Fair Tide’s Thrift Store.
- Supervises volunteers (over 100) and staff (3 direct reports) involved in each program.
- Proactively reports to and integrates with other departments and activities, especially development and strategic teams, including impact stories for internal and external use.
- Participates in planning new Programs.
- Runs the new Programs as developed.
- Leads ongoing Program evaluation and improvement efforts.
- Maintains information systems as necessary to support strategic analysis and grant reporting requirements.
- Ensures operational compliance with all internal policies and external policies.
- Adheres to Program budgets.
- Supports relationships with community partners and programmatic donors.
- Leads conversations with staff and board regarding program satisfaction and impact.
- Makes staffing recommendations and participates in the hiring process.
- For qualified candidates, social media posting.
- Lead the implementation of project management software.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of four years of relevant work experience
- Self-directing and able to take direction
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at multitasking
- Experience managing and supervising volunteers and/or staff using excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (see Current Programs, below)
- Competence with Microsoft Office and Proficiency in Excel
- Familiarity with project management software tools
- Facility to learn new software applications
- Strong ability to troubleshoot operational issues and create solutions
- Ability to Perform in a Demanding, High Volume Logistics/Scheduling Environment

Compensation and Benefits:
Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 depending on experience
