Marketing & Development Manager
MANP is seeking an organized, creative, relationship-builder to serve as our full-time Marketing & Development Manager. The Manager’s primary goal is to inspire new, continued, and increased support of the organization by building an appreciation for and understanding of MANP’s programs, services and impact.
Overview of Responsibilities
- Formulate marketing strategies to promote MANP membership and programs. Create promotional tools including, but not limited to, social media, flyers, e-blasts, presentations, and event signage. Contribute to content development for website, newsletter and blog, as needed.
- Formulate corporate sponsorship goals, strategies, and workplans, and lead stewardship of corporate sponsor relationships. Maintain corporate sponsorship development records and tracking tools, including producing gift acknowledgements/sponsorship confirmations, ensuring that benefits and acknowledgement aligns with commitments, and developing necessary reports.
- Support Membership Engagement Manager in the recruitment and retention of corporate Friends (which can overlap with corporate sponsors).
- Staff the Advancement Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Represent MANP at outreach events, networking events, and programs hosted by partners. Design and deliver virtual and in-person presentations about the organization, when needed.
- Develop press releases and field press inquiries, in collaboration with the Public Affairs Manager and Executive Director. Act as an organizational spokesperson, as assigned by the Executive Director.
- Support stewardship of the Foundation Leadership Circle, including working with the Executive Director to design and produce events.
- Participate in development and implementation of strategic plans, work plans, and other organization-wide efforts seeking to accomplish MANP’s mission and goals.
- Participate in ongoing learning about equity, diversity and inclusion and their relationship to the organization’s work.
- Support the production of other MANP online and in person events and programs, as needed/assigned.
- Ensure the MANP brand is applied consistently and compellingly across all channels and events.

- 3-5 years relevant experience in marketing, communications, and/or development, including social media, preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Deep appreciation of the value of the nonprofit sector and commitment to MANP’s mission
- Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines independent of direct supervision.
- Experience working in a collaborative, dynamic team setting.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills in English, including the ability to use courtesy and discretion in addressing the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholders simultaneously. Multilingual a plus.
- Ability to design and present compelling material in a variety of formats
- Ability to bring flexibility and creativity to planning and problem-solving and take initiative to propose and implement improvements.
- Experience working with people from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic and cultural communities, as well as a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Proficient computer/web-based software skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Apps, CRM databases, and Zoom, and an enthusiasm for learning and using new technology. Experience with design applications such as Canva or Adobe InDesign a plus.
- Valid insurance and driver’s license, and willingness to travel throughout Maine.
- Event setup can involve moving tables and chairs and some moderate lifting (up to 25 pounds) on an occasional basis (accommodation may be possible).
The starting salary for this exempt position is $64,459 – $66,071 with a competitive benefits package, including:
