We are excited to announce that nominations are now open for the Maine Philanthropy Center (MPC) Board of Directors! If you or someone you know is passionate about strengthening philanthropy in Maine and committed to advancing equity, we invite you to submit a nomination today.

At MPC, we believe that a vibrant, just, and equitable Maine is built on collaboration, learning, and shared leadership. As part of our commitment to equity, we are creating a more accessible process by which to seek board members who bring diverse perspectives and lived experiences with a dedication to creating a more inclusive philanthropic sector.

Why Join the MPC Board?

  • Shape the future of philanthropy in Maine through strategic leadership and equity-centered philanthropy
  • Build meaningful relationships with leaders across the sector
  • Contribute to a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and bold ideas

Who We’re Looking For
We welcome nominations from individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and experiences. This year, we are especially seeking candidates who:

  • Have experience in nonprofit finance or fund development
  • Represent an independent or family foundation
  • Have a strong equity lens and an analysis for how MPC can be a vehicle for transforming the philanthropic sector and embedding equity into philanthropic practices

You can nominate yourself or someone else—all nominees should align with our board commitment and values, which you can review here: MPC Board Commitment & Profile

How to Nominate

Nominations will be reviewed over the summer, with selected candidates invited for further discussions in the fall. New board members will begin onboarding in January 2026.
