Dr. Wendy Wolf, President and CEO of the Maine Health Access Foundation (MeHAF), was honored by the Maine Primary Care Association (MEPCA) as the recipient of their prestigious ‘President’s Award.’ MEPCA Board member and Eastport Health Care CEO Holly Gartmayer-DeYoung presented the award citing Dr. Wolf’s work to  improve access to quality health care for people in Maine and for advancing initiatives that support better health in communities across the state.

Under Dr. Wolf’s direction, the foundation has become a nationally recognized leader in health philanthropy. In presenting the award, Ms. Gartmayer-DeYoung noted MeHAF’s many contributions to transforming Maine’s health care system, including guiding a statewide outreach and public awareness campaign to promote the Affordable Care Act’s Health Insurance Marketplace, improving care delivery through the integration of primary care and behavioral health services, and supporting the development of a comprehensive statewide electronic health information exchange, HealthInfoNet.

In accepting the award, Dr. Wolf credited Maine’s network of community health centers and their staff for their tireless efforts to provide comprehensive, quality health care to all Maine people regardless of income or insurance status. She noted, “MeHAF couldn’t advance our mission and serve Maine’s most vulnerable people without the passion and dedication of Maine’s community health centers and our other partners and grantees.”
