1 in 4 Project: Supporting Immigrant Children's Education
Program Details
In the United States, 1 in 4 children live in immigrant families and are facing heightened risks due to the rise of anti-immigrant policies. Beginning with the administration’s revocation of the sensitive locations guidance, which previously shielded schools, hospitals, and places of worship from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions, families are feeling more vulnerable and are avoiding seeking medical care, sending their kids to school, and otherwise engaging in their communities.
Fortunately, there is an active, committed, and engaged network of organizations that are already mobilizing at the federal, state, and local levels. The Protecting Immigrant Families Coalition was founded to meet this moment, bringing together leading advocates for immigrants, children, education, and health.
Join us on October 9th for a session focused on supporting immigrant children and English language learners in their K-12 educational journeys.
