Join us as we navigate ongoing federal grants changes and related impacts on the grants profession and the grants process. We are fortunate to have the co-chairs of the Grant Professionals Association’s National Governmental Advocacy Committee, Allison Huber and Dianna Pell, facilitating this timely discussion. This session will provide clarity and actionable insights to help grant professionals address the challenges posed by federal policies and executive orders, departmental changes, and canceled funding and how to better navigate their futures.

The session will review (1) Current Executive Orders/Policies/Legislation with a specific focus on the One Big Beautiful Bill and the Streamlining Federal Grants Act; (2) Stories of success for other grant and funding professionals who have been able to navigate the pivot; (3) How to identify opportunities for yourself to shift; and, (4) Advocacy tools you can use to advocate for yourself and your profession.

Learning outcomes will include:  

1. Status of Legislation, Executive Orders, Memos and Policies; 
2. Examples of tools developed by GPA’s Governmental Advocacy Committee to advocate for yourself; 
3. Identifying opportunities created by current changes to help you pivot; and,  
4. Success stories of navigating the new environment.
