"Hunger is not caused by a scarcity of food but a scarcity of democracy."
Frances Moore Lappe
Join Maine Food Funders Network for a virtual panel presentation and discussion offering a candid look at what’s working, where help is needed, and where philanthropy can make a difference in Maine's food system.
Hunger isn’t about food shortages—it’s about access, equity, and the systems that connect people to resources. This session brings funders together for an update on Maine’s Roadmap to End Hunger by 2030, to hear about the impact of recent and anticipated federal changes, and to discuss what’s ahead for families, food producers, and frontline organizations. Key leaders in the field will outline trends, program gaps, and threats facing Maine’s food system. Philanthropy has a unique opportunity to step up and help protect Maine people's access to food in this historic moment.
