- Wondering whether your DEI funding initiatives need to be reframed?
- Concerned about a fellowship program you offer for early career people of color?
- What about your funding programs that focus on women and girls?
- Is it ok to keep offering DEI training to our board?
Many people in the field of philanthropy are asking these questions.
Thanks to the generosity of the Island Foundation, we are able to invite a lawyer from Hemenway and Barnes to speak with Grantmakers Council of Rhode Island (GCRI), Philanthropy MA and Maine Philanthropy Center members on the topic of the Executive Orders on DEI.
Eleanor Evans, will present an overview of the considerations foundations need to keep in mind with respect to the Executive Orders around DEI and give you some things to think about to distinguish among the current issues and those that pre-date the current administration’s Executive Orders.
Denise Porché, Executive Director of the Island Foundation, will also share the questions her board had and which legal guidance was particularly important to their deliberations.
We’ll have time for Q&A with Eleanor and Denise and we welcome your questions in advance. (See pop up question form after you register).
