Methods and Models

The Equitable Evaluation Framework™ (EEF)  website hosts a plethora of resources to help funders assess their alignment of purpose, practices, processes, and policies with stated values and intentions, specifically within the context of the U.S. philanthropic sector.

Funders looking to examine and change the power dynamics and structural barriers that too often get in the way of nonprofits achieving their intended impact, should check out Trust-Based Philanthropy Project

Participatory Grantmakers has some great resources about participatory grantmaking. The Ford Foundation also produced a report recently that helps define this model that moves decision making to those most affected by the issues in the community.

A newer model of fundraising, Community-Centric Fundraising moves the focus from the funder to the community. There is an international community that is learning about and practicing this model by investigating and employing these ten principles.
