Member Spotlight: Maine Humanities Council
This month we are highlighting Maine Humanities Council. We encourage you to explore the work of the Maine Humanities Council by visiting their website to explore their programs, grants, and events or following them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
Organization: Maine Humanities Council
Mission: The Maine Humanities Council, a statewide non-profit organization, uses the humanities—literature, history, philosophy, and culture—as a tool for positive change in Maine communities. Our programs and grants encourage critical thinking and conversations across social, economic, and cultural boundaries.
Upcoming Events: Maine Humanities is excited to be hosting our two big public programs in Bangor this year! Join us in Bangor on 2/24 for The Big Question – a day of wondering, pondering, and discussion led by people who engage with the double question what do we hold onto? what do we let go? And join us again in Bangor on 4/6 for Readers Retreat, where we’ll be joined by writers Morgan Talty, Julian Brave NoiseCat, and Brendan Shay Basham for a full day of discussion on Tommy Orange’s novel, There, There.
