This month we are highlighting the Maine Food and Beverage Education Center. We encourage you to explore the work of the Maine Food and Beverage Education Center by visiting their website to explore their events and programs or following them on Instagram and Facebook.

Mission: Our mission is to strengthen Maine’s food economy by educating the public about where their food comes from, why it matters, and how to support a more resilient local food system.

We do this by operating a unique, centrally located campus in Wiscasset (Maine Tasting Center) that serves as both a public destination and an industry resource. Through a combination of self-guided exhibits, food and beverage tastings, producer-led classes, and special events, we help thousands of visitors each year discover the people, practices, and products that define Maine food.

Upcoming Program: We’re excited to be bringing back our Flavors of Maine class series for the third year; it’s one of our favorite programs and something we’re really proud of. These one-hour drop-in classes are designed to be accessible and engaging for both locals and visitors, offering a fun entry point for exploring different parts of Maine’s food system. With six rotating topics, they help participants better understand and support the farmers, fishermen, and producers who keep Maine’s food traditions alive.
