Organization: Maine Initiatives

Mission: Maine Initiatives is a network of individuals supporting greater social, economic, and environmental justice in Maine through informed, intentional, and collective philanthropy.

Recent Accomplishment: Maine Initiatives works at the intersection of community organizing, place-based philanthropy, and racial justice in the state of Maine, unceded Wabanaki territory, through five core programs: Grants for Change, Immigrant-Led Organizations Fund, Outdoor Equity Fund, The Giving Project, and MaineShare. Maine Initiatives is currently inviting community volunteers to assist in the 2024 Grants for Change participatory process by reading three applications and helping to inform the selection of this year’s G4C cohort of twelve (12) racial justice organizations who will receive unrestricted, general operating grants of $45,000 paid out over three (3) years, $15,000 per year!
