Mission: MWPA brings together Maine writers, editors, publishers, and literary professionals to sharpen their craft, create community, celebrate great writing, and lift the state’s literary culture.
Upcoming Event: On October 7, MWPA will host Stories That Move Me, a biennial community celebration of stories that raises money for scholarships and free community programs. This year's event features five Maine people: Nirav Shah, former director of the Maine Centers for Disease Control and deputy director of the U.S. CDC; Joan Benoit Samuelson, gold medalist at the 1984 Olympics and founder of the Beach to Beacon; Vincent Stanley, Patagonia’s long-time chief storyteller and co-author of The Responsible Company: What We've Learned From Patagonia's First 40 Years; Gia Drew, activist, Executive Director of EqualityMaine and former high school teacher and coach; and Onnesha Roychoudhuri, author, educator, storyteller, and activist.
